Unlock the profound wisdom embedded in the untranslatable words of Sanskrit—words that carry the essence of ancient Indian spiritual and philosophical thought. Sanskrit is not just a language; it is a science of sound, where every word is a parent to ideas, every syllable carries deep symbolic meaning, and every root-sound has layers of experience waiting to be discovered.
This course offers an in-depth exploration of key terms found in sacred texts such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, Tantra, and Yogic literature, revealing how these words, rooted in their origin, embody a deeper sense of spiritual truth that cannot be fully captured in translation. The transparent structure of root-sounds in Sanskrit provides an insightful way of approaching these words, revealing the interconnectedness of meanings across various texts and contexts.
Through engaging lectures, interactive discussions, text readings, word games, and contemplative exercises, participants will dive into approximately 40-50 essential Sanskrit terms such as Shraddha, Sankalpa, Seva, and Prasada. By the end of the course, participants will develop a nuanced understanding of these words, enabling them to gain deeper insights into the philosophical and spiritual teachings of ancient India.
This course is ideal for those who wish to explore the beauty, logic, and power of Sanskrit in a way that enhances their understanding of Indian spiritual heritage and its key teachings.
